The following songs became famous during, or are particularly associated with, the Second World War (1939 – 1945). Many were made famous by singers such as Gracie Fields, the Andrews Sisters and of course, Vera Lynn. As well as those classic wartime songs with their themes of hope and friendship, I have also included other songs of the era, including some fantastic numbers from films and musicals that were released during the war years.
