Singing for Wellbeing during Covid-19: online sessions

When national lockdowns were introduced in March 2020 we were unable to sing together in the usual way in residential homes and community groups. For many months there were no face-to-face singing sessions; ensuring everyone’s safety and adhering to government guidelines about social distancing.

For a singing leader such as myself this provided quite a challenge!  I developed two approaches to providing singing sessions within the restrictions of a pandemic:

1) pre-recorded singing sessions over the YouTube video-sharing platform;

2) live remote sessions using the Zoom video conferencing platform.

Pre-recorded sessions via YouTube

As a first response I began compiling a selection of pre-recorded Singing for Wellbeing video sessions.  These can be accessed at any time of the day or night via my YouTube channel.  Click on one of the links below to try a session you are interested in.

Live remote sessions over Zoom

From October 2020 I have provided Singing Sessions using the video conferencing platform, Zoom, for the Exeter Stroke Singing Group.  As we have all grown in confidence in using these methods of meeting, the sessions have gone from strength to strength.  For further details about virtual sessions over Zoom please email me at naomi@musicspeaks.co.uk.
